This five-day intensive - in person - training course equips professionals in the humanitarian and development sectors with the skills to conduct thorough, survivor-centred investigations into Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (SEAH).
Covering all phases of an investigation—from planning and risk assessment to interviewing and report writing—the course blends theory with practical exercises and real-world case studies. Participants will learn to uphold ethical and legal standards, manage complex risks, and understand the benefits of incorporating digital investigation techniques into case management plans. All approaches prioritise the dignity and safety of survivors throughout the investigative process.
Ideal for safeguarding officers, investigators, HR, and compliance professionals, this course offers the tools to drive accountability, foster organisational learning, and support survivor recovery. Training is delivered in person, by a multidisciplinary team of safeguarding specialists with extensive experience in domestic, international, and humanitarian contexts.
Participants should be aware that the course content may involve accounts of sexual abuse and explicit language. Refreshments and lunch are provided on training days, participants are responsible for their own accommodation and travel costs.
This training is consistent with global best practice, drawing on sector guidance including the CHS Alliance/Humentum Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (SEAH) Investigation Guide.
Certification is provided to successful participants.
